1Julian Pedley email update, Julian Pedley. "julian there are a number of inaccuracies on the Cecil pedley site. bettie should be Betty. Dad was born 28/jan1905 and died 11 feb 1985, and Betty was born 31/july/1909.( and is still going strong) The photo of cecil/betty and children (taken in dec1952) shows Martyn aged 3yrs, Philip about 1 yr ( in the front) Dennis aged 13yrs, Rosalind aged 11 yrs and me Julian aged 9yrs. It was taken in a village called Mashobra, 6 miles from Simla in the Himalayas, at a house called Bendochy owned by a Christian lady who owned the famous Cecil Hotel chain in India, they are still operating under the same name. She helped my parents alot who were working with a mission called the central asian mission at the time who only sent funds from Uk at very irregular intervals and we lived by faith! My earliest memory of Mum was darning socks using one of those wooden mushroom things over which you stretch the socks, she was mighty relieved when nylon/wool socks were introduced.".
